Carny's maternal instincts were driving her crazy. She was obsessed with moving the puppies.
(Onto our bed, into the living room, anywhere!) As long as I sat in the whelping box she relaxed.
I finally draped a sheet over the whelping box, like a tent, and that was all she needed to have her 'den'.
(Definitely preferable to me setting up housekeeping in there, though Yoda liked having a captive audience!)
