"Raised Underfoot With Kids and Cats"
Litter Born July 20th!

I am SO excited about this litter! These puppies should have it all, bubbly, outgoing temperaments, the energy and drive for agility, herding, etc., the conformation for the show ring, but most importantly, the loving, velcro dog temperament Aussies are known for. Both Blitz and Carny would gladly spend their days cuddling in my lap (that is, when Blitz isn't running circles around the moon!).

Proud Mommy
Carny had 8 puppies, not bad for a first litter!
We decided to name these pups after punctuation marks. I've always thought Ampersand and Tilde were neat words, and my son Travis thought Underscore would be a cool name (okay, we're weird, get used to it! ;~D). By the way, we did get two mismarks in this litter. While this automatically makes them pet quality, it doesn't prevent them from competing in agility, herding, obedience, or Rally. They can also become therapy or assistance dogs, and, most importantly, they still make great pets, the most important job of all!
Week 3 8/10/07

Here they are, in alphabetical order:
Ampersand (&)

This is Ampersand (Sandy), a red merle male. I don't think you could find a puppy more easy going than this guy!

Bracket ( [ )

This is Bracket, a blue merle male.
He has decided that the entire world is entitled to his opinion, and apparently he's *full* of opinions!
Comma ( , )

This is Comma, so named due to the teardrop shaped thumbprint on top of his head.
He's also known as 'Comma the Cow', and 'Comma Chameleon'.
Elipse
(.....)

This is Elipse, so named because of the round spot on the back of his head. He's such a lover dumpling!

Hyphen ( - )

This is Hyphen, the red merle girl. This little girl has found her 'spunk'. She gave me the hardest time of all the puppies, because she wanted to rough house!
She wasn't trying to suck on my finger, she was doing her best to 'gum' me to death.....
Tilde (~)

This is Tilde, the blue merle girl. She's the first puppy to run up to you when you get in the whelping box. She's VERY people oriented for her age.

Umlaut
( ¨ )

Umlaut (as in ö), is a red tri boy. He's not quite as vocal as Bracket, but he comes close. He was the last puppy to open his eyes. Apparently he didn't like what his siblings told him about the big bad world, and wasn't in any hurry to see it for himself. ;~D Remember 'Sheldon', of U.S. Acres, on Garfield? (The egg with legs...)

Underscore ( _ )
Underscore is a black tri male. Aidan says he'll fight people tooth and nail for this boy, he's Aidan's favorite. He's a great big sweety-pie.

Hyphen appreciated the flowers.... as a chew toy!

Tilde still had a grubby face from nursing

See why I didn't want to open my eyes? It's a jungle out there!

Those flowers tickle!
We managed to catch Bracket just as he shook his head.
Right: Tilde asleep in the whelping box (not exactly ladylike...)

Underscore's turn for the cuddle.

|

Underscore has conquered the evil hippo, hooray!

Savannah didn't want the hippo to feel left out, so we took some pictures of it. Not surprisingly, it's *much* easier to take pictures of stuffed animals!

Umlaut likes toe jam

At last! Clancy got to sneak in and see the puppies! He was vibrating with excitement. He *loves* puppies, until they're as big as him.
|

Tilde
I was clipping the puppies toenails (you can see a few on my pants), and Tilde crawled between my legs and fell asleep.

Here are a few pictures sent to me recently.
On the left is Django, on the right is Kiah, both from the Blitz/Cloudy cross. They're 6 months old.
Below are Diane's dogs. She came in to go to bed, and found the dogs had beat her to it!
The black tri girl is Jessie, from the second Cheyenne/Belle litter, the red bi girl is Shasta, from the Ho/Belle litter, and the red merle boy is Coda, from the Blitz/Cloudy litter.
